Nathalie Agussol is a French-born creative director and editor based in New York City. With a diverse background in fashion, photography, and publishing, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the creative industry.

Career and PAN & The Dream

Agussol is the founder and editor of Pan & The Dream (Pan Editions), a collectible art and fashion publication launched in 2017. The magazine is celebrated for its hybrid format—blending the tactile quality of books with the visual storytelling of magazines—and is housed in the permanent collections of institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and The New York Public Library, among others.
Each edition of Pan explores a unique theme through a curated mix of art, photography, and design. For instance, the La Belle et la Bête issue delves into contemporary perceptions of beauty, drawing inspiration from Jean Cocteau’s surrealist film. This issue received the 2019 Communication Design Judge’s Choice award from the Type Directors Club.

Fashion Stylist and Accessories Designer

Before founding Pan & The Dream, Agussol honed her skills as a fashion stylist and editor. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Art History, including studies in anthropology, sociology, and French cinema. Her entry into the fashion world began with internships in Paris, where she worked alongside renowned photographer Guy Bourdin. This pivotal experience led her to shift her focus to crafting powerful fashion imagery and narratives.
In addition to her editorial work, Agussol has designed accessories under the name Pan & The Dream. Her nylon tulle socks, which gained attention after she shared them on Instagram, quickly became a coveted item and were featured in multiple fashion editorials.
Agussol seamlessly combines her roles as designer and stylist, shaping visually captivating stories.

Photography

Agussol is also an accomplished photographer. Her work has been featured in several editions of Pan & The Dream, including Prosopon, Cradling the Singing Bird, and The Beholder, editorials that showcase her distinctive visual style.

Curator

Agussol also curated the ‘This Time It’s Personal’ exhibition in 2012 and 2013 in Sydney, Australia. Showcasing top Australian photography talent, the exhibition was created to raise money and awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer.

Background and Philosophy

Born and raised in France, Agussol moved to Australia in her late teens. Coming from a culturally diverse family, she developed a deep appreciation for various cultures and perspectives. This background has influenced her open and accepting approach to creativity and collaboration.
Agussol values privacy and anonymity, choosing to let her work speak for itself rather than seeking personal recognition. She often goes by the name Pan in her creative work, using it as a pen name or alias to represent her artistic identity. She believes in the freedom that comes with being behind the scenes, allowing her to focus on her creative endeavors without the pressures of public attention.
